The Richmond, Indiana franchise plans to recognize its 50th Anniversary by giving five $1,000 scholarships to five graduating seniors in the Richmond/Wayne County area. The Allen family supports many organizations and charities in their community such as a Corporate Partner of the local Boys and Girls Club and charter member of the Chamber of Commerce and their past annual sponsorship of a “Coats for Kids” drive before each winter. The Richmond franchise takes great pride in their close community connections. Throughout its 50 year history, Manpower of Richmond has been fortunate to have a knowledgeable and dedicated staff. Geneva’s son, Mike Allen, became an additional licensee in 1988 and now his children, Michael Allen and Debbie Whirley, currently lead the franchise on a day-to-day basis, along with Michael’s wife, Beth Allen. Though the franchise territory was one rural county in Indiana, under Geneva’s leadership and subsequently her son and grandchildren, the franchise has established a consistent record of providing staffing services to the surrounding business community and employment workforce. The franchise was founded in 1966 by Geneva Allen, who worked with Manpower founder Elmer Winter to establish one of the early franchises.
